After a birthday surprise for keynote speaker J.T. Thompson, writers and illustrators combined to learn about promoting their work, themselves, and each other.
A gala celebration of the winners of the Writers & Illustrators of the Future Contests took place on April 8, 2022 in Hollywood, California.

The writers submitted their 24-hour stories and learned about professionalism, while the artists learned the basics of commercial art.
Monday opened with a tour of the Author Services building for writers and illustrators alike. After the tour, the illustrators met Coordinating Judge Echo Chernik, while the writers learned about conventions and traditional vs. self-publishing.
