I'm listening to Fleetwood Mac, specifically their self-titled Album. They have three singers, right? And each one has a TOTALLY different vibe. And the album hits you with different beats every song. It keeps it fresh.

Tracks 3-6

#3 Blue Letter - fast pace, driving, optimistic

#4 Rhiannon - mysterious, dark, droning

#5 Over My Head - light, happy, contemplative.

It's a huge swing of beats. Hugemongous. Yuge.

I'd argue that having varying beats matters in short stories and possibly more so in novels.

Does anyone else have any other albums that hit on a variety of beats? I thought it could be a study.

Cheers

Dream Theater is all over the map, in a good way. They are my fav band of all time despite how many of their songs I don't care for. The library is huge, and when a song is good it is very good.

Find The Count of Tuscany somewhere and check that out. It's 15 minutes, but you'll know if you like them by the time it's over. Smile
