Hey guys! I have a question regard past 'professional publication' of a work -
Let's say a story has been included in a published fiction competition anthology - is that 'professional publication' enough to disqualify it from entry?
Yes, sorry. It won't count to disqualify you unless it's a professional sale, but any publication is publication enough. And welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll write lots of great new stories!

@reuben Ah, nevermind. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I'll hold off on entering said story into other competitions until I know its Writers of the Future status.
Cheers!
That's always for the best--there's nothing quite like getting a story accepted by two separate places to completely bludgeon your good-will with those editors, and that holds true whether it's competitions, pro markets, semi-pro markets, or any other. As a rule, even if markets do accept simultaneous submissions, I always treat any submission as exclusive until I know exactly what's happening with it.
