Oh god, I am so not ready for Q3... wotf019 Love how you formatted your intro post, Dustin!

In the full editor and preview there's one drop down box in the formatting section above the text window. It says normal. Click it and you get options.

I like starting the next quarter each time. I try to do it on the first day of the final month of the previous quarter... This gives us 4 months for each quarter's story. (I was a little late this time.)

One of the most common questions we get is about the quarters' start and end times. So I thought I'd list them all from now on. Hopefully will help see the whole year at a glance. And I've been going back to old posts and listing the winners as well as the link to the full results.

I find myself suddenly *very* ready for Q3, because I recently finished a story I've been trying to write for years. Might do one final round of edits before sending it in, but it is, for the most part, already done. I'll probably send as soon as the portal opens for Q3 so I can think on other things for awhile.

Nice.
Martin subbed on the first day for many quarters. Although I think he did that so he would be in before pro-ing out. He won on his final allowable entry. wotf013

My Q3 is mostly written, but it's a mess. I desperately need eyes on it to say the WTF I've been hearing in my own mind for so long. I have to write the ending first, then I'll send it to my most gentle of readers. I bruise easily.

I can be gentle. ...Which sounds very different than I meant it, now that I've typed it out. wotf019

Last two quarters I had an idea ready in the bank for what I wanted to write and enter; this quarter I've got two ideas and I'm the worst person in the world when it comes to making decisions! =(

So... I can't believe I'm typing this, but I'm in for Q3. Yes, already. I finished TWO short stories toward the end of Q2 (one of them being a story I'd been trying to figure out how to write for years, which meant that it went together really fast when I finally figured things out), so I figured why not just send it in early? It was done, and this means I don't have to stress about my entries until Q4. XD And if I do come up with another short throughout the course of Q3, I may have another super-early submission again! We shall see.

I'd say it is work, but enjoyable work at that. I'd read WotF even if I didn't want to be in it. The more I learn about writing, the more I learn what to look for when reading WotF stories.

I have yet to read Vol 36. This quarter will be my second entry to WTF. I submitted the previous entry on the very last day and it still felt like an accomplishment to just send a finished manuscript.

It IS an accomplishment! You finished a story, overcame fear, and sent it out. Commit to doing that every quarter with a new story, and you'll be well on your way. Congrats!

My process for this quarter:
1. Take a few days to come up with as many unique story ideas as possible
2. Take the best four then plot the hell out of them
3. Take the best two and write them.
4. Use the force.
5. Eat ice cream.
6. Make my kids watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers… for no good reason.

It is an accomplishment to have finished and submitted. Well done. Keep entering,

I've only read the first 5 in Vol 36 so far, and I can see I need to stretch my imagination wider for future entries.
