My Q2 has just gone to my last reader (aka wife). I've never workshopped a piece so hard. I suspect I might have even got too many critiques! Each and every one was incredibly helpful, but the combined sum felt like I was 'polishing the stone' (to steal a phrase from @johngoodwin himself) a touch too far.
Congrats to all that have submitted so far. Proud of you. I've read some of those entries and I feel really confident (and a little scared) that we'll have more forumites win this year, if not this very quarter!

@jeschleicher Awesome, I wish you the best in this quarter!
“Stories are the collective wisdom of everyone who has ever lived. Your job as a storyteller is not simply to entertain. Nor is it to be noticed for the way your turn a phrase. You have a very important job—one of the most important. Your job is to let people know that everyone shares their feelings—and that these feelings bind us. Your job is a healing art, and like all healers, you have a responsibility. Let people know they are not alone. You must make people understand that we are all the same.”

@easegood luck finalising and submitting it!
I've read a few forumites stories this quarter and would second that what I have seen so far has been of a very high standard. Would be great to see some names I recognise from the forum in the list of Winners (I suspect many will be SHM at least).

Got my draft done. I don't have the strength to proof tonight. That will be tomorrow. Then some readers. And then submission. But I'm a lot further along than I usually am at this point in the quarter.

I agree. I'm one of those rinse and repeat editors. I just need to know when to say when. But ... there is still that part of me that knows the story can be better.

Anyone else get the email from Jody Lynn Nye saying this quarter is light and she wants "you" to enter? I'm just unsure exactly who this is being sent out to. Assumedly not just me, right?

I find that stuff quaint. People administer this contest, mostly out of love and honor and respect. People make mistakes. When I see them, I'm reminded ... people. Not some big corporation, just some folks doing their best to keep on keepin' on.
