By the way, what time do results usually come out? In the past I’ve gotten the emails in both the afternoon and around 10 pm EST, but I’m working with a small sample size.

Any time is right. I've gotten e-mails after 2am EST, before.

Well, that's only 11 pm PST so that's not so extreme but yeah. She likes to call me around 4 in the afternoon (I'm PST too) but I've had calls at 10 am, 7 pm, 2 in the afternoon...

Dragon - you know how you 'Made a slight error in reading the email' - well the specific mention of the 21st was in regard to when a 5% discount ended.

Anyway, I've had all our phones switched off, so I won't know that I didn't get the call. Clever, uh?

Do you recall when she sent that email? I vaguely remember Joni making such a prediction in an email but I thought that was quite a while ago.

It was last Friday. I think it only went out to the HMs from last quarter.

Yeah - I know. Reread the email just after I hit send and found my second misread. Seems my twitching, even though I am not really noticing it, is in full bloom in my subconscious. Oh, wait...now it's rising to the surface. Dang! Here I thought I was getting good at being ZEN.

As those who have been submitting to the contest for a while know, Joni has been known to be relatively optimistic with how quickly results will come. However, I haven’t ever seen her give a specific day in an email like this.

Just kick back and relax. It's only 9 o'clock here on the West Coast. Give Joni a chance to grab her coffee and try to only refresh this page and The Grinder every half hour or so. Who's twitching? Not me!

I agree it's unusual to hear a time announced. It's a first for me.
When I responded to the HM badge offer I mentioned results on Tuesday.
I got the link for the badge yesterday and she wrote, yep tomorrow.
But there's more to it, the badge download expires today, was she talking about the results or the badge expiration?

No, "pending" is some statistical thing that says "these stories are past what we calculate the average amount of time that a story is at this market before a reply". It's pretty useless for WOTF. What you're looking for is the purple entries in the second grouping from the right - that's Q1 entries - to start turning red. Red means rejection.

I would assume acceptance is saved solely for winners and published finalists. The bigger question for me is how individuals might consider personal versus form R's.

We won't see any green today! "Acceptance" should mean winners and published finalists, like Peony said. Anything else, no matter how nice, is a rejection.

Just got the email! Last quarter was my first entry into this competition. Now I have two HMs from two entries
