Quarter 3, Writers and Illustrators of the Future vol. 31
Let me be the first to say "RRRRRRRRRRRRR"!
Last in v29Q1, first in vol31Q3 Didn't even have time to *twitch* .
Rejection again...this one hit hard.
~You Are Now Entering Stephanie's Vortex~
WOTF: 1x Silver, 4x HM, 13x R
IOTF: 1x Semi, 2x R, 4x Into the Vortex
A first-wave R for me. This one had structural problems (notably no climax) so I'm not surprised. It was also a setting I think Dave is on record as saying he disliked, so no surprises here.
Stewart C Baker - 1st place, Q2 V32

Hmm, I still haven't heard anything back, and I got the acknowledgment of receipt of my entry on May 1. Good sign or bad?
Hi there Chuuluu, how's things? No news is at the very least not bad news, but most people asking this question are down below jabbering.
1 x SF, 2 x SHM, 11 x HM, WotF batting average .583

Straight reject. There needs to be a smilie with a frown and a tear running down its cheek.

R for me.
Since this is my first attempt at WotF, I am ecstatic with this result. Working hard on the Q4 submission!

Am pleased. Didn't expect more with this one, actually thought it would be R because of its subversive-to-the-mainstream-political-correctness implications.

I'm happy to be back with an Honorable Mention. I haven't placed even there since before the last quater with KD, so to me it's a good sign that I can at least hold David Farland's attention enough to read through the story.
This was my 24th entry to the contest (haven't missed a quarter since I started) and is the only time my story has reached this high.
This is the same story that got shortlisted by Neil Clarke (but ultimately rejected) for Neil Clarke's Upgraded anthology. I'm hoping it will sell somewhere big after those two near-misses.
