Ooh, tough luck. That's going to hurt your exemplary race score. Don't those publishers know that you're aiming for 100?

Really, though, congrats! First pro sale is awesome!

I got two more pro slots to fill, Jackie ;) This last one took a year and a half of submitting to get, so we'll see. I think I've still got a few quarters in me :)

Imagines a row od dominoes: the first one one falls, then they all start to fall!
Imagines a tiny snowball atop a mountain ... as it begins to roll downwards ... picking up more snow so rolling faster ... growing bigger, rolling fastergrowingbigger ... etc.
Imagines a few Uranium atoms splitting, slamming into others, which split, slamming into more, becoming a runaway nuclear react-- oh wait, that last image may not be so happy. But still ... good news on your sale! Congrats!

My story 'The Quanta of Art' has been published over at Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show.

FYI, this story was my Q4 2009 entry and was removed from consideration as I won Q3. However, K.D Wentworth told me over at SFF net that she'd loved the story and she'd already selected it as a finalist when the message to pull it came.

They have done some great artwork for the story--check it out here...

One word after another...

Bravo on the sale! And that artist is fantastic...

It's folks like that that motivated me to focus my creative energy on writing instead of art (though I still do it).

I should really subscribe to IGMS.

Grats and nice opening to the story Skadder. I really wish I had a sub to IGMS so I could read the rest. :)

Thanks guys!

Came across this...

This is the physical object that results from winning.

I'd already seen the cover as an artwork, but this is the first time I've seen it made into a cover. Also when I saw it the figure was wearing a space-type suit, but they have changed that now.

First time any of my stuff has been for sale on Amazon.

Just received notification that my short story "Night of the Widow" has sold to the semi-pro print anthology Fearology 2: Beware All Animals Great and Small, ed. by William Tucker, Library of Horror Press. I'll let everyone know the full details once they're made available, of course, so you can purchase copies for all of your loved ones.
