Yes, Stan Schmidt confirmed at WorldCon, and new editor Trevor Quachri (pronounced CASH-ree) confirmed it as well: Analog is buying my story, "Not Close Enough", a story of an unusual Martian expedition and a commander with difficult orders to enforce.

And thanks, Strycher! Given that it was my FIRST WorldCon, it was necessarily my best so far. But I'm secretly hoping that my best will be London in 2014, when Brad and I will be duking it out on the Hugo ballot!

I think for manuscripts, we should call it Exclamydia. That conveys the idea that it's a bad idea and should be avoided.

I don't know what you're talking about! Exclamation points are great! Everyone should use them all the time! In fact, I think I'll forget all other punctuation in my next story! It will be brilliant! Brilliant, I say!!

Well, I thought it would be a long time before I would be able to add something here. But I got something...not a big sell but it's niiice.

My " Blue Of Home". Entered in a OnThePrmises.com Mini contest. Suppose to describe a color in a non-cliche way in 50 words.

It received an Honorable Mention. No pay but they are going to publish it, so you all will be able to read it soon.

Not that it will take that long.

I'll provide a link when it is up.

And even though rather small I now have something new to add to my credit line in my cover letters...hey, it's published.

Thanks all.

And I just started revising a story I'm going to send to the regular contest deadline the 28th. This one has to do with time...anything but somehow time has to be important to the story. Mine may just have two things about time.

And I highly suspect that the OnThePremises contests are really writing lessons and practice in disguise. Especially the mini contests but the regular ones too. They send out a Newsletter with writing hints and such too. And they are willing to crit your story for 15 dollars. The top ten get it free.

I can see why the first place got First but not the third place story...it seems on the same level as the three HMs.

Now however what do I do with it? Eventually place it on my web site.
Actually, I have a longer version in mind...200 some words. I know a couple markets who want less than 500 words but I'm not sure if it would be considered the same story though.

When I can, I think I will add those 200 words and send it to EscapePod, they still want flash even though their new guidelines does not have a minimum, with a notation that a shorter version was published.

Nice, LD! I really liked yours; It was one of my favorites beside first place which, as you pointed out, definitely deserves the title. Well done!
