Does anyone know how to turn off author info in a Word document? My Mac version Help says go to the Info tab under File. Online articles show the same thing. But there's no Info tab anywhere in the File tab. My MS Office is current revision, registered under my name, so author name is auto embedded. This has never tripped me up on previous entries, but always nags at me. Just don't want author name to inadvertently pop up somewhere in the file when I submit my story.
Hmmm...mine (which is an older version of MS Office) has the info tab. I click on 'check for issues' for it to find and remove author data. Of note, I don't use a Mac, so this info may not be super helpful.

Thanks David. That's exactly what the Mac version of "help" shows, but the info tab's not there. I think I'll edit it on my work laptop, which has the PC version. I'm sure it will show up there.

Wow, so helpful and so much easier than how I was approaching this issue. Thanks David (@lost_bard)!

I understand your concern. It seems like the interface might have changed slightly. To turn off author info, try this: Go to the "File" tab, then click on "Options." In the Word Options dialog box, select "Personalize" or "General," depending on your version. There, you should find an option to clear the author's name. Make sure to save your document after making changes to avoid any inadvertent appearances. If you still encounter difficulties, let me know, and I'll be happy to guide you further. Good luck with your story submission.
@johnalex20 Right click on the story file then Properties/Details. There you can change Author and Last Saved By. I always give my PC a pseudonym, so it gives all my writing/files the pseudonym. Thus I don't have to change anything later. This is part of my war against being data-mined.
