Snapshots from a Black Hole & Other Oddities, a short-story collection from Seattle speculative fiction author K.C. Ball, is now available from Hydra House Books.
Ball won the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future award in 2009 with Coward’s Steel, which is featured in the collection. Ken Scholes, 2005 Writers of the Future winner, said this about Snapshots from a Black Hole & Other Oddities: “I fell in love with Ball’s clear, beautiful voice and her eyes-wide-open vision from the first story and have added her to my list of favorite storytellers.”
Her short stories have appeared in various print and online magazines, including Analog, Lightspeed, Flash Fiction Online and Murky Depths, the award-winning British fantasy magazine.
Ball is a 2010 graduate of the Clarion West writers workshop. She has studied with SFWA Grand Master James E. Gunn and is an active member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America. she edits and publishes 10Flash Quarterly, an online magazine devoted to genre flash fiction.
