What if...WOTF?

When I first entered, my confidence was not high. I hardly suspected the opportunity that was to come my way. A finalist award in 1989 got my story, “Mothers of Chaos,” into Volume VI of the anthology of winners and from that moment forward, good things began to happen. I found that attitudes changed, that my work was now taken seriously. More and more often editors responded favorably to my stories. And now and then, when I mailed a story out, it would never come back. Instead, I’d receive a check and the story would be published.

For that alone, I would have been eternally grateful to WOTF. But there’s more. In 1993, I returned to the WOTF anthology as a bona fide winner. This afforded me the unique opportunity to relive the events that so changed my life: another Writing Workshop, another Awards Event, more book signings and radio interviews, and, once again, publication in one of the hottest SF anthologies of all time.
