The Passing of Anne McCaffrey - Writers of the Future judge

 

Our dear friend and contest judge since 1985, Anne McCaffrey

passed away in Ireland yesterday. We will dearly miss her.

Her legacy is is not only the worlds she created for millions to enjoy

but the care she gave to new writers through this contest.

As part of that legacy I would appreciate any homage you wish to pay

to her by e-mailing me your thoughts and comments of her and how

Announcement from WOTF Volume XXVI Winner Brad Torgersen Headlines Analog Magazine!

Dear All,

Here is exciting news from one of your brethren. Just in case you did not know, Analog is a big deal. It is straight SF and the largest 

magazine of the sort. The December cover (see below) is beautiful and it so happens that the art is by none other than our 

Illustrators of the Future judge Bob Eggleton. On top of that, a writers of the Future judge - Kristine Kathryn Rusch's name also 

graces the cover.

Two Writers of the Future Judges to Impart Wisdom to you all TONIGHT!

Tim Powers, author of On Stranger Tides, The Anubis Gates, Last Call and other works kicks off our second season of Farland's Authors Advisory Conference Calls Wednesday October 19, 2011 9:00pm Eastern. Tim is also credited as being one of the originators of the Steampunk sub genre of Science Fiction. He'll be talking to us about Secret Histories: Blending the real and the fictional in our works.
