and author Jerry Pournelle.

Ari Goelman grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia called King of Prussia, which may partially explain his life-long love of the fantasy genre. He left King of Prussia when he was seventeen and spent the subsequent eleven years in Israel, Florida and, most recently, Vancouver, British Columbia.  He received his masters of science (planning) from the University of British Columbia in 1999, and worked for the City of Vancouver for just about a year, before leaving the city to have more time to write.

At this writing, Ari has started a doctoral program in urban studies and planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He hopes to imbibe the spirit of Isaac Asimov while studying in Boston and emulate the good doctor in his dual academic and literary pursuits.

He plans to continue to write as much as he can afford to.  His short story "Coyotes Are an Urban Animal" will be published in an upcoming issue of On Spec Magazine. In the face of his unremitting persistence, he believes that sooner or later an editor will have a moment of weakness and publish a story he has submitted.  So be it!
